“Memories of Love, Water, the Sacred Feminine, and the Power of words”: toward the 2026 Exhibition
Sensing the Era of Video
Ten years ago, those who uploaded videos to YouTube were still considered “niche.” Yet I had a hunch, “The era of video is coming.” Acting on that intuition, I enrolled in a storytelling course and created Mama, I Love You, a work inspired by a book written by a Japanese physician.
Time has passed since then, and now I am challenging myself to produce a feature-length film. This time, the themes are “water” and “sacredness“, elements we are beginning to forget, yet which lie at the very root of life.
A Work Born from Collaboration
This film is a co-creation with musicians, birth doulas, and light artists. Its title is Memories of Love, Water, the Sacred Feminine, and the Power of Words. We are preparing for an exhibition in 2026.
The spark of inspiration: questioning water
Do you remember the 2022 incident when impurities were found in Nestlé’s mineral water? It became a major issue, compounded by government cover-ups. At the time, I drank mineral water every day, and this event forced me to confront the problems of “dependence on water” and “plastic waste.” Water is the source of life. Yet we so easily take its preciousness for granted.
Without water, we cannot survive. Too much water, and floods occur. We seek clean, delicious water.
And yet, do we not treat water as if its existence were too obvious, failing to show it the reverence it deserves?
A musician who experienced the 2023 Noto Peninsula earthquake shared their story of going two full days without water. They described the terror of its absence as something “beyond words.” This experience became a pivotal moment, shaping the core of this work.
1. The Power of Water
Water is the origin of all life. It flows through the veins of the Earth, nourishing every living thing. Yet in our modern world, we have grown distant from its true essence, its ability to cleanse, to connect, and to sustain. This work is an invitation to reclaim our relationship with water, to remember that we, too, are made of its currents.
The musician’s story of thirst is not just a personal ordeal, it is a mirror held up to all of us. How many of us have ever truly felt the absence of water? How many of us pause to honor its presence?
2. The Power of the Feminine
The feminine holds a force that is both gentle and unshakable, power that has shaped civilizations, nurtured life, and whispered wisdom through the ages. Yet its voice has often been overlooked or diminished. Here, we honor the sacred, the intuitive, and the transformative, qualities that reside within all of us, regardless of gender.
This is not about biology, but about the energy that gives birth to creation itself, the same energy that flows through water, that stirs in the depths of the Earth, and that resonates in the words we speak.
3. The Power of Words
Words are not merely sounds or symbols; they are living energy. They have the power to heal, to inspire, to destroy, and to create. Every word we speak carries a vibration that ripples through time, shaping our reality.
In Japanese, this concept is called kotodama (言霊): the idea that words possess a spiritual force. What if we treated language not as a tool, but as a sacred act? What if we recognized that the stories we tell, the names we call ourselves, and the promises we make have the power to reshape the world?
4. What we have forgotten
This exhibition weaves together the sacredness of water, the mystical power of the feminine, and the creative energy of words,three forces that share a common thread: our forgotten connection to nature and to ourselves.
These are not distant or abstract ideas; they are the very foundations of our existence, though we have learned to overlook them. Through this work, I hope you will:
- Feel the wellspring of life within water;
- Reawaken to the presence of the feminine’s enigmatic power;
- And truly grasp the weight of words as they flow from your lips.
℘
An invitation to participate
- Drink deeply of the stories, sounds, and sensations that surround you,
- Speak consciously, recognizing the power of your voice to shape reality,
- And remember the sacred in the everyday: whether in a drop of water, a whispered word, or the quiet strength of the feminine.
